Pinterest in the Classroom

Everyone has heard about Pinterest right?

Let's put it this way, if you are on Blogger,
the odds are that you have.
I am not a big Pinterest fan.
Before you get your panties in an uproar,

I like crafts, but I am not one of those cute crafty people.
You know the ones I am talking about.
They take a stuff out of the trash, paint it, and it looks
like they paid $40.

I am a pack rat as it is, I don't need to add to it.

So it came to my attention that I could use
Pinterest as lesson plans.
I was puzzled. It had never occurred to me to make my own Pinterest Board and use it like
I would for lesson plans.

So with this idea in mind, I set out to make my own lesson plans.
I get a lot of random joy from pointing and clicking.
In about an hours time I had lesson plans that could keep me busy all year with my four and five-year-olds between letters, numbers, science experiments, and even snacks.
My coworker is very into science experiments
and the kids love them.

I didn't realize you could type in multiple things, such as: Education, Super, Hero and it would collect Educational Superhero ideas.  I was pleasantly surprised.
My class usually has a Superhero Theme
during the summer months.

Pinterest can be overwhelming.  When I was looking up my Theme ideas, I felt like I should see all of my options.  It was quite lengthy.  After a while I wondered when it would come to an end.

The biggest challenge I had with Pinterest was trying to install a
gadget on this Blog.

Normally, when I go to add an embedded code,
it is one copy and paste.

Well in Pinterest, you have to put

<script async defer src="//assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>

in one of  your Gadgets for it to work.
So Basically, copy embeded code and
then add the second code under it.

Now, you only have to do that code once instead of everytime you want to add a Gadget from Pinterest.

Example: I added 3 Gadget's to this Blog.
I only put the second code at the end of
of my links to Pinterest and ALL

popped up on
the right side of the screen.

As far as using Pinterest as Lesson Plans, I think it is a viable option even if you aren't crafty.
